Sun Salutation

Good morning!

I'm headed out of town today for a wake/funeral so no time for the gym, not to mention that I am SORE from yesterday.

So I decided to take advantage of my free On-Demand programming and found a Yoga class(?) to try.

Just to give you the whole mental picture...
I moved my coffee table over to the side, so I had a nice big open space in front of my tv.
My floor is laminate (looks like wood), so it's nice and HARD and slippery.
I don't have a yoga mat, so I used a towel.  But only used it sometimes since it too is a little slippery on the floor.
I started off in socks, but slid across the floor so I switched to barefoot.

Overall the class was OK.  It wasn't too easy, but it also wasn't hard.  Again, I feel that it was better than nothing.

And as a result, I'm thinking about maybe investing in a yoga mat and maybe borrowing a DVD (or two) from the library for those days when I can't make it to the gym. 

Any video recommendations?

I am a fellow spin instructor (from Toronto, Canada) that stumbled upon your blog recently while searching for spin class profile ideas. Thanks for posting the information and I really appreciate your music taste. It is VERY VERY similar to mine.
Anyway, if you are interested in finding yoga you could download the free "YOGA TODAY" podcasts from iTunes. They have lots of variety to pick from.

Thanks so much for the info on the Yoga podcasts, I'll definitely check those out.
I'm glad that you found the profile ideas helpful. I found that there aren't many good resources out there, so I wanted to help out fellow instructors.
