How do you deal with injuries?

You know the story, you're eating well and exercising, you have a great routine going and then bam! you get injured.  There's no nice way to say it, it sucks!

Athletes are notorious for wanting to get back to working out before they're ready to.  But it really is important to take the necessary recuperation time before going back to working out your injured body part.

That said, I injured my wrist when I was in Costa Rica.  I think it either happened during white water rafting or ziplining, or maybe it occured during one but was exacerbated by the other.  Who knows.  It wasn't anything horrible so I hoped it would heal on it's own.

I've been back from CR for about a month now and unfortunately it's still bothering me.  It's gotten a bit worse in the past couple of days but hopefully that's just from overuse.  Regardless, I bit the bullet and booked an orthopaedic appointment for Thursday.  Thursday can't come soon enough as I'd really like to know what is wrong and what I can do to fix it.  Ugh.

I'll keep you posted!

Ooo hope your wrist is ok. I am in bed right now laid up after a foot surgery sustained from years of martial arts and running, which would likely not have gotten so bad if I had gone to the doctor when it started hurting years ago. Instead I insisted on ignoring it and kept running and jumping etc. What a great reminder to take care of yourself when you're hurting instead of thinking you'll not miss your workout in the short run, only to pay for it in the long run!

Thanks! Dr.'s appt is this afternoon and of course the wrist is feeling a bit better today.
So sorry to hear about your foot!
It's so true, we do tend to ignore until it's too late.
Hope you feel better soon!!
